She was raised alongside her older sister in Daegu.
Her name in English is Monica.
Siyeon developed a knack for singing at an early age and also performed in the school choir for 2 years.
She would enjoy going to large concerts and eventually decided that she also wanted to become a professional singer as an adult.
She was ranked at 97th place on the survival show Mix Nine in the past.
When she’s free time, she enjoys playing games or just prefers to listen to music while being alone in her room with the lights dimmed down.
Siyeon is one of the 5 members that were initially chosen to form the girl group MINX. The other 4 members were SuA, Yoohyeon, Jiu, and Dami. Later, in November 2016 after MINX had been defunct, it was announced that Happy Face Entertainment had singed on singer and dancer Handong as well as Gahyeon and was beginning the girl group once again under the title Dreamcatcher.
As a part of MINX, Siyeon contributed her vocals to the release of its debut single album under the title Why Did You Come to My Home on September 22, 2014.
She dislikes the taste of shrimp.
Jiu lent her voice to the release of Dreamcatcher‘s first single album titled Nightmare on January 13, 2017.
