Last night the 35th annual fundraising extravaganza ‘BBC Children In Need’ kicked off, the show was hosted by former X Factor presenter Dermot O’Leary, after Sir Terry Wogan had to pull out with illness. It was the first time in the history of the show, that Sir Terry has had to miss out on hosting the charity fundraiser.
Dermot stepped in at very short notice and did a brilliant job.
Huge names such as One Direction, Selena Gomez, Jess Glynne, Ellie Goulding and many many more, were out in force to get the UK to dig deep and raise as much money as possible.
There were sketches including one from the cast of the new Star Wars movie and a live performance from the cast of EastEnders.
The night was fun-filled with live performances, and sneak peaks at Christmas specials.
But the only reason the stars came out was to raise as much money as possible for disadvantaged and ill children living in the UK.
And it was another record breaking evening, with over £37 million pounds being raised, smashing last years total of over £32 million.
